We are creating a Neighbourhood Plan for Goudhurst.
Our Neighbourhood Development Plan will set out a shared vision for the community supported by local planning policies that enable residents to have real influence over the type of development that is approved in Goudhurst and where development can take place.
The activity is sponsored by Goudhurst Parish Council but the plan is being developed by a group of volunteers.
Why prepare a Neighbourhood Development Plan?
Over the coming years Goudhurst, like many other communities will face challenges for new development. The number of houses Tunbridge Wells Borough Council (TWBC) need to build annually has recently doubled and to meet this need TWBC have already made a Requests for Sites some of which are within our parish.
We cannot simply say that Goudhurst will resist all change and the absence of a community vision could leave us more vulnerable.
The completed plan will deliver a shared vision for the future of Goudhurst that is supported by a set of planning policies to govern future development within the parish.
